Jennifer Villaverde
Jennifer is a 2nd generation Filipin* – Canadian actor, singer, emerging playwright, arts educator, and mom. As an actor and singer, select theatre credits include James and the Giant Peach, Hana’s Suitcase, Seussical, A Year With Frog and Toad, Blue Planet (YPT); Wedding at Aulis, Animal Farm, Alligator Pie, As You Like It, The Threepenny Opera (Soulpepper); Vietgone & Top Girls (RMTC). As an arts educator, she was an artist educator for YPT and an artist instructor for the Soulepper’s City Youth Academy and In The Schools program. Recently, she co-wrote and performed in a musical podcast for families called Stillwater School for Mosquitos, adapted from the book The Mosquito Brothers by Griffin Ondaatje and co-produced between The Mulligans and Bad Hats Theatre; wrote the book for another musical podcast, Destination: Wedding! for Theatre Sheridan and Musical Stage’s First Drafts; and voiced the Narrator in Julia Lederer’s radio play, With Love and a Major Organ. Up next: she’ll be performing live on stage in 1184 by Phoenix Arts and the Aga Khan Museum this spring and, this summer, she’ll be creating a free, outdoor musical performance for Musical Stage’s Musical Moments.
