Briana Brown b&wBriana is a professional playwright and theatre director. Her play The Concessions premiered at the Firehall Arts Centre (Vancouver) in collaboration with Touchstone Theatre and Playwrights Theatre Centre, and was nominated for a Jessie Award for Outstanding Original Script. Her one act plays, Cassandra, Almost, Again and Wait have been published in two anthologies from Signature Editions, and performed in festivals across the country including FemFest (Winnipeg), Brave New Play Rites (Vancouver), TheatreSKAM’s Skampede (Victoria) and various Fringe Festivals including Toronto’s Best of Fringe. She has directed the world premiere productions of Salt (Lark & Whimsy) and The Way Back to Thursday (Theatre Passe Muraille), which was remounted in Vancouver as part of the In Tune Festival in 2015. She is a graduate of UBC’s MFA in Creative Writing.
