Taran Bamrah

Taranjot Bamrah is an actor, writer and educator. She graduated from the Drama, Theatre & Performance Studies program at the University of Toronto. Taranjot has previously been a part of the CDTPS’s Winter’s Tale and Tales of a City by the Sea, and the award-winning U of T Drama Festival shows; Boy Who Cried, Trust Nobody: A Comedy and The Rhythm Method. She completed a short film with the AMY project titled “Undertow”, which premiered at the 2020 Summerworks Festival. Besides Performing, Taranjot was also a writer in AMY Project’s The Breath Between and assistant directed Tales of a City by the Sea at Theatre Passe Muraille. Taranjot is thrilled to utilize her mentorship skills to uplift YPT’s vision.

What is your favorite part about teaching drama?
My favorite part is being able to share my passion and watch kids discover their talents and ultimate potential.
What is your favorite summer time activity?
I love going to the beach!
If a play was written about you, what would be the central theme?
The central theme would be resilience.
What are you looking forward to most about being in person for Summer?
I am looking forward to being in the same space and playing, while building off one another’s energies.
