Description
Drama classes for students entering Gr. 7-12 take place at YPT’s 161 Studios, as well as Etobicoke’s Assembly Hall. See class details below.
Session 2: February – June 2026
*NEW* 13-week program!
We are thrilled to expand our second session to 13 weeks to give students more time to practice their skills and feel confident performing. Prices for Session 2 reflect the additional class hours.
In Session 2 students will…
- Build upon their performance skills from Session 1 and learn how to transform their theatrical ideas into a performance!
- Continue to expand their movement, voice, character creation, and improv skills through new exercises and activities specially connected to performing for an audience (projection, stage presence etc.)
- Expand their confidence
- Collaborate with peers to create their own play performed on a YPT stage the final weekend of the session
- Make new friends – and have fun!
- Final performances take place on the weekend of June 6-7, 2026
- Please note there are no classes on March 18, 21 & 22, April 4, 5 & 8 and May 16, 17 & 20, 2026.
New students are welcome throughout the year; however each session builds upon the last. Enrolling in both sessions provides the most comprehensive learning experience.

Acting for Film (Gr. 7-12)
Acting for Film (Grade 7-12) provides students with an introduction to acting for the screen. Students will learn the process of breaking down a scene, creating a self-tape and auditioning. At the end of the session, students will have the opportunity to showcase their filmed scenes to friends and family!
In this class, students will:
- Work with an artist educator to guide them in breaking down a scene
- Develop their acting skills
- Learn about the auditioning process
- Collaborate with peers to foster teamwork and build confidence
- Host a screening of their scenes for friends and family at the end of the session
- Play drama games, meet new friends and have fun!
