Robbie Huebner
Robbie Huebner is a playwright and educator born and raised in Fort McMurray, Alberta. He trusts you don’t hold that against him. He holds a BFA and MFA from the University of Victoria in Creative Writing and a BA from Carleton in English and Film Studies. He has written, directed, produced, performed, designed (sound, lights, projections) and stage managed numerous Fringe shows. His work centres around technology — how we navigate it, how it shapes us and how we shape it. Topics of his work include trolling, dating, faith, celebrity, community and loss.
Robbie has been the Teaching Assistant for Writers’ Bloc for the previous two years. He is delighted to be stepping into the role of Head Honcho (a self-appointed title) and loves the enthusiasm, sensitivity and creativity the participants bring to the class. He is excited to see what the students create in this year’s session.
