Lee Stone (they/them) is a queer, trans and non-binary, multidisciplinary theatre practitioner with a focus in directing, producing and teaching. Their inspiration as a director has always been about engaging with stories and voices of and for social change through the lens of feminism. They are a graduate of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and are the founder, artistic director-producer of Dead Name Theatre (DNT), which uplifts and centres the voices, experiences and talents of trans, non-binary and queer creatives in Toronto (deadnametheatre.weebly.com). In 2023 they were the director for YPT’s Junior Ensemble and they are now the 2024 director for YPT’s Senior Company. Lee has taught a range of theatre classes for youth including acting, directing, fight choreography, stage production and playwriting/performance for ESL students.
