Rob Kempson

Rob is a theatre artist and educator, working largely as a playwright and director. Rob is best-known for his Dora-nominated trilogy of plays about education: The Graduation Plays. Most recently, he co-created and directed Box 4901, a critically-acclaimed production by Brian Francis at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre in March 2020. As an educator, he has taught at the Stratford Festival, Shakespeare in the Ruff, Pleaides Theatre, Theatre Passe Muraille, Canadian Stage, and (of course) Young People’s Theatre. He also teaches at several post-secondary institutions and has taught in five regional school boards in Ontario. He is the past Associate Artistic Director at the Thousand Islands Playhouse and the past Associate Artistic Producer at Theatre Passe Muraille. For more info, check out robkempson.com.
